Join AXA XL as an Associate Underwriter and participate in an Underwriting Development Program designed to build your expertise in insurance. You will gain hands-on experience, participate in industry-specific training, explore emerging trends, and develop essential business skills through interactive workshops. You will be mentored by experienced professionals to accelerate growth within the underwriting field and prepare for a successful career in insurance. As a newly established business division of AXA XL, our Middle Market focus is on expanding AXA XL’s offerings to mid-sized clients in the US Commercial P&C market. This role is to join an established underwriting team in a rapidly growing division, servicing a renewal book and producing new business through exceptional underwriting practices for the East Region. The program will launch in June/July 2026. What you’ll be doing
Essential responsibilities include: Build and enhance relationships with assigned brokers and clients to identify and establish new distribution relationships. Collaborate across business units and functions to leverage existing resources to underwrite, manage and service a Private Equity renewal book and produce new business in line with Private Equity underwriting unit goals. Exercise discretion and self-supported judgment in the analysis and evaluation of risk. Participate in roundtable discussions on risk assessment. Negotiate with producers within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards to achieve profit objectives. Build expertise within the Private Equity portfolio community to address client needs with a one AXA solutions approach to private equity underwriting. Maintain compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements. You will report to the Chief Underwriting Officer, Private Equity, Middle Market. What you’ll bring

Robust collaborative skills in a fast-paced, team-centric environment. Outstanding interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
