Overview Base pay range: $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr. This position is for a Materials Manager at Ultimate Staffing Services. The role involves spearheading corporate initiatives at a site level to ensure alignment with corporate supply-chain goals. The Materials Manager oversees the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.
A successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the supply chain cycle, manufacturing industry, organizational structures, and key metrics. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to interface across all levels of the organization and with suppliers and contractors. The company is a contract manufacturer, so CM-specific experience is highly valuable. ERP experience is preferred, with M2M experience considered a plus. The role reports to the site President and to corporate supply chain personnel with dual responsibilities and reporting structures.

Responsibilities of the Materials Manager
Develops and implements strategies and processes for efficient procurement and management of materials.
Oversees the Buyers\' ordering of materials, supplies, and equipment from suppliers to ensure all customer requirements are met, including approved part numbers, suppliers, and flow-down requirements in alignment with corporate standards and targets.
Evaluates, selects, and establishes relationships with suppliers, and negotiates contracts for payment terms, goods, and services.
Responsible for materials availability, supplier on-time performance with required dates, and raw material inventory turns.
Monitors shortage reports and proactively communicates purchased material shortages to relevant parties so that On-Time Kit metrics and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) goals are met.
Oversees, evaluates and drives supplier performance improvements in supply-chain programs and in day-to-day purchasing activities.
Coordinates Corrective Action activities between the Emerald Technologies-Brea site and suppliers.
Manages the Materials Department staff comprised of Buyers, Inventory Analysts, and Stockroom personnel.
Qualifications of the Materials Manager
Bachelor\'s Degree is desirable with college-level courses in Business, Finance or related fields.
A minimum of 3-4 years of experience buying electronic components and/or PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards).
At least 2 years of experience leading a team, preferably within the electronic manufacturing services market sector.
Demonstrated knowledge of materials management accounting processes, cost-benefit analysis, inventory control systems, supplier management, product lines and sources.
Strong knowledge of supply-chain management principles, inventory control and procurement practices.
PC literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Outlook software.
Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Mathematical skills including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
