Job Description Accounting Controller

Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in compliance with GAAP
Coordinate and assist with external audits and tax filings
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and reconciliations
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
Monitor internal controls and compliance with financial policies and procedures
Manage job costing process, and work with Project Managers to review profitability of projects
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Support the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes
Supervise and mentor junior accounting and administrative staff
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar) and Excel
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Effective communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing
Exposure to ERP systems and process automation tools
CPA is a plus
