Interim Controller - Baltimore, MD About The Company And Interim Controller Opportunity CFS is partnering with a new client in Baltimore City to find an Interim Controller on a contract basis for the next 2+ months Schedule: M-F 8:30am-5pm in Baltimore City Garage parking available for a fee Reports to the CFO Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, payroll processing, tax compliance, and select HR responsibilities Supervise a team of three accounting professionals, providing guidance and oversight Establish and uphold internal accounting procedures and controls to support organizational goals and ensure consistency Generate comprehensive financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for leadership review Manage employee benefits and health plan administration Develop and monitor the annual operating budget in collaboration with senior management Support external auditors by preparing required documentation and ensuring timely completion of annual audits Ensure regulatory filings are completed accurately and cost-effectively, maintaining full compliance with applicable standards Handle biweekly payroll processing and ensure timely submission of all related documentation Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Qualifications
7+ years progressive accounting experience Candidates must be comfortable assisting an organization in the midst of restructuring with cleaning up books and preparing for audit Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Experience using Sage Intacct a plus, but not required Experience working for a non-profit organization a plus, but not required Proficiency with Excel required Supervisory experience highly preferred Must be able to pass a background check #INOCT2025 #ZRCFS
