Are you a dynamic leader who excels at building high-performing teams? As a General Manager at Related Affordable, you’ll lead and manage an affordable multifamily residential community in Manhattan, NYC (Chelsea). You’ll bring your proven track record in asset preservation, budget management, and industry compliance to drive success across your portfolio. Your leadership will be key as you leverage your communication skills to inspire your teams, ensure operational excellence, and maintain high performance standards. You will collaborate with community managers, asset managers, or city agencies to achieve our goals and provide quality affordable housing. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Direct, challenge, and motivate Community Managers to run high-performing properties, helping Related provide affordable housing to eligible individuals and families. Create and implement leasing and marketing plans, resident relations, budget preparation and financial reporting, and monitoring compliance with Project Based Section 8 and LIHTC laws. Hire and supervise site staff and above, including initial screening and interviewing. Parts of the process may be delegated to appropriately trained site Community Managers where applicable. Supervise all site accounts payable and receivable. Review site budget-control logs and monthly income statements. Prepare monthly variance analysis reports for submission to the regional office. Ensure that all resident complaints are handled expeditiously, diplomatically and professionally. Ensure that maximum economic rents are achieved through active rent level management, general and targeted outreach methods, assurance of leasing skills, and resident retention programs. Supervise building security and incident documentation. Develop, implement, and assure preventive maintenance programs. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Compensation

$150,000 - $175,000 per year Annual Performance Bonus This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, geographical location, and the specific responsibilities of the role. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Who we are looking for Must be available to work on site Monday-Friday 8:30-5PM Minimum 5 years of multifamily property management leadership, including 3 years of multi-site portfolio oversight Strong knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) and HUD Project-Based Section 8 (PBRA) programs. Affordable industry certifications (CPO, TCS, BOS) and experience with major rehabs and renovations are strongly preferred. Experience with Management and Occupancy Reviews (MORs), HUD REAC/NSpire inspections, and RealPage OneSite is a plus. Bachelor’s degree is a plus. Proven ability to lead teams, set and achieve goals, and deliver exceptional service to clients and residents. Financially proficient in reading operating statements and managing budgets.
