Overview
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented
Purchasing/Procurement Manager
to lead sourcing and procurement activities for medical liquid products, including syrups, injectable solutions, and suspensions. This role ensures supply continuity, cost-effectiveness, and full regulatory compliance across the procurement lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to pharmaceutical liquid dosage forms. Identify, assess, and qualify suppliers based on quality standards, regulatory compliance (e.g., cGMP), reliability, and cost efficiency. Lead contract negotiations covering pricing, delivery terms, quality agreements, and long-term supply commitments. Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing to align supply chain planning. Oversee inventory levels, demand forecasting, lead times, and buffer stock; proactively manage and escalate potential supply risks. Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as on-time delivery, quality defect rates, and cost variances. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential disruptions, including raw material shortages. Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier development, and continuous improvement programs. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and maintain audit readiness. Lead supplier audits, manage contract execution, and maintain accurate documentation of technical specifications. Manage and mentor the procurement team, fostering talent development and aligning team goals with organizational objectives. Stay current on market trends, innovations, and emerging technologies in pharmaceutical liquids and supply chain management. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 5–8+ years of procurement experience, ideally within pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing environments focused on liquid dosage forms. Proven expertise in negotiation, vendor management, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Proficiency with ERP procurement systems (e.g., SAP MM, Oracle). Professional certifications such as CPSM are a plus. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Salary Range: $100,000-$110,000 Structure: Onsite Benefits
