Overview

Our Bakery Manager (Afternoon/Evening Shift) supports Tatte’s efforts to provide comfort and joy, and to inspire, care for and nurture life, every day, by overseeing all aspects of afternoon and evening operations at our bakery. Their focus is on ensuring that all recipes are followed and products are prepared to Tatte specifications and standards, and is responsible for making sure that evening deliveries are on time and made consistent with relevant standards. They also support bakery leadership, including without limitation, by providing customer service and partnership to bakery clients, achieving company initiatives, being food safe, and adhering to all Tatte policies and applicable regulations. They exemplify our core values and incorporate them into everything their team does.

Responsibilities

Ensures consistent and quality products per Tatte specifications

Creates and posts timely and accurate team member schedules

Directs the Afternoon/Evening bakery team to execute all production and non-production tasks efficiently, effectively, and safely

Assumes responsibility for the quality control process in proofing, baking, finishing, picking, and packaging all goods

Ensures that Tatte and its teams comply with all applicable safety, sanitation, and cleanliness protocols and standards throughout the entire premises, including, with limitation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Adequately staffs, onboards, manages, develops, and adheres to accountability protocols for all bakery team members under their supervision. This includes a commitment to the safety and well-being of all team members.

In partnership with the General Manager and bakery leadership team, assists with operational planning, including effectively and efficiently managing labor and waste

In partnership with the Logistics Manager, oversees afternoon deliveries

Actively participates in management meetings to ensure effective and accurate communication of all relevant product and operational information

Maintains strong and effective relationships with all Tatte managers, supervisors, and support team members

Promotes, models, and maintains Tatte mission and values, Tatte’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity & belonging, and adheres to all Tatte policies

Understands and follows crisis management procedures

Other duties, as assigned

Working Conditions / Essential Functions

Able to stand for 10 hours per shift/day, 5-days a week for an average workweek of 50 hours

Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Must be available to work 1pm – 11pm shift during the week and weekend, and holidays (as needed)

Position Requirements

Minimum 1-2 years of managerial experience successfully overseeing a team of 20+ employees (preferably in a food manufacturing or high-volume production facility)

Ability or a willingness to learn to operate bakery manufacturing equipment such as deck ovens, proofers, rack ovens, fryers, etc.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume production bakery

Ability to direct and manage a team through kind and empathetic leadership

Excellent communication and time management skills

Positive, can-do attitude

Other Preferred Skills

1-3 years of experience working in baking or a food manufacturing environment

Prior managerial experience in a high-volume production facility

Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices

Experience building and mentoring high performance teams

Spanish language skills are strongly preferred
