As a Heavy Equipment Operator (Residential), you'll:
- Operate automated collection vehicles and knuckle boom trucks to collect approximately 1,000 containers daily.
- Support other residential crews with yard waste and bulk item collection as needed.
- Respond to emergency assignments such as snow removal, storm cleanup, or other weather-related events-sometimes with little notice.
- Navigate city routes using maps or GPS and communicate effectively via two-way radio.
- Complete daily surveys, vehicle inspections, and service reports with accuracy.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service while representing the City with professionalism and respect.
- Perform physically active work, including stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
