University of Miami is hiring: Unit Secretary - Specialty, Full Time in Miami

Overview

The UHT - Emergency Department has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Unit Secretary - Specialty (U) position. The Unit Secretary - Specialty (U) provides support to an assigned specialty unit by maintaining and updating patients’ records and performing administrative activities in compliance with all regulations.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone calls and routes or takes messages appropriately.
• Greets visitors and medical staff, including providing directions when needed.
• Preserves a clean, safe, and functional work area in the assigned unit.
• Maintains unit inventory and orders supplies when appropriate.
• Maintains equipment in good working order at all times.
• Prepares reports and enters data and information into applicable systems.
• Keeps leadership and managing staff informed on unit issues.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
