Overview
JIRA Administrator role at AssetMark. The candidate will manage and maintain JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, and JIRA Confluence platforms, ensure efficient functioning of JIRA environments, provide support to stakeholders, and implement best practices to optimize workflows and collaboration. Hybrid work is available with offices in Concord, CA; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; or Phoenix, AZ. Responsibilities
JIRA Administration: manage JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, and JIRA Confluence instances, including system configuration, user access, permission schemes, and global settings; create, maintain and configure JIRA projects, workflows, fields, screens, permissions, schemes, dashboards, and reports; manage user accounts, groups, roles, and access rights in accordance with security standards; monitor system performance and identify issues, implementing timely resolutions. Process Optimization: define and enforce best practices, naming conventions, and configuration standards across Jira instances; conduct regular audits of projects, workflows, and permissions to reduce complexity and maintain consistency; collaborate with teams to implement workflows that improve productivity and collaboration; identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. Integration and Tooling: develop and maintain integrations between JIRA and other systems (e.g., Confluence, CI/CD Pipelines, GitHub, MS Teams); automate processes using JIRA Automation rules and scripting tools; support API and automation scripting to extend Jira functionality and enable data exchange; manage add-ons and marketplace applications including evaluation, installation, licensing, and upgrades. User Support and Training: provide day-to-day user support, troubleshoot issues, and address requests for customizations; conduct training sessions for team members to maximize effective use of JIRA tools. Metrics and Reporting: leverage JIRA reporting tools to design, build, and maintain dashboards that track team performance, service delivery metrics, and project progress; develop custom reports using JQL, PowerBI, and Fabric; analyze data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement. Governance and Best Practices: define and enforce JIRA usage standards, ensuring alignment with organizational goals; conduct regular audits of user roles, permissions, and workflows to maintain system integrity; assist with ITSM practices for Knowledge, Change, Problem, and Incident Management where appropriate. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong expertise with Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence. Strong understanding of JIRA workflows, permissions, notification schemes, and automation. Proficiency in JIRA Query Language (JQL) for creating advanced filters and reports. Experience with JIRA add-ons such as ScriptRunner, Tempo, or Structure. Knowledge of JIRA APIs for integrations and customizations. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, JavaScript, Powershell) for custom automations is a plus. Familiarity with ITSM / ITIL practices and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Education & Experience
3-5 years of hands-on experience administering JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, and Confluence. Bachelor’s Degree in technology or business discipline or equivalent experience. Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACP-600, ACP-620) are highly desirable. Experience with other Atlassian products such as Assets, OpsGenie, or Trello, preferred. Familiarity with PowerBI, Fabric, or other data visualization tools, preferred. Background in IT service management or project management, preferred. Compensation: The base salary range for this position is between $105,000-$120,000. This position may be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and comprehensive benefits. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not provided.
