Staff Engineer RF Microwave Design
to support the MDA team in emerging supercomputing technologies. The role focuses on superconducting electronics and energy-efficient computation using Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL). You will collaborate with physicists, circuit design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to bring these technologies to reality. Responsibilities
Design, model, and verify RF, microwave, and mixed-signal subsystem assemblies Support verification efforts for RF, analog, and digital hardware designs Collaborate with Mechanical, Manufacturing, Test, and IC design engineers Derive and trade requirements with subsystem engineers and component-level designers Work with component-level design peers to develop custom RF integrated circuits to meet assembly-level requirements Note: This position is 100% on-site in Linthicum, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable STEM field with a minimum of 12 years of relevant engineering experience; 10 years with a Master’s degree; or 8 years with a PhD Working knowledge of HFSS or COMSOL Experience with electronics, mechanical requirements, and schematic drawings Willingness to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI with Poly security clearance U.S. Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with RF/Microwave modeling, simulation, and PCB design tools (e.g., Keysight ADS, Xpedition, Altium) Experience with EM tools for RF packaging effects (CST Studio, Sonnet, ADS, HSPICE, SI-Wave, Sigrity) Experience with spectrum and network analyzer techniques for EMC measurements Experience with packaging technologies (ceramic/laminate packages, PCBs, interposers, wire bonding) Experience with cryogenic test stands, superconductivity, and mechanical CTE Ability to provide solutions to complex RF/Microwave design and test problems Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00. The salary range is a guideline and may be adjusted based on the scope of the role, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses; long-term incentives may apply for VP/Director roles.
