Overview
Systems Engineer (Software) - level 3 or 4 Responsibilities
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyzes are performed at all levels of total system products to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Maintains existing operations procedures and captures lessons learned from real-time performance; develops new procedures as required. Interfaces with program and customer personnel. The selected candidate should have a strong understanding of software development. This position will be at one of our sites in Morrisville, North Carolina; Fairfax, Virginia; or Linthicum, Maryland. Basic Qualifications
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at the time of application [US Citizenship required] Must have the ability to obtain and unfavorably succeed a CI polygraph Must have a completed STEM degree (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) Level 3 (Principal) 5 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's (STEM) 3 Years with a Master's (STEM) 1 Year with a PhD (STEM) Level 4 (Sr Principal) 8 Years with a Bachelor's (STEM) 6 Years with a Master's (STEM) 4 Years with a PhD (STEM) Must have above minimum experience on the below: Experience with software systems design Experience with MBSE and Cameo tool Experience with JIRA Experience with decomposing element requirements to subsystem Experience with acceptance criteria creation Preferred Qualifications
Favorable adjudicated CI polygraph 9/80 work schedule or other work-hour flexibility options may be available at NG sites. Compensation and location
Base pay range: $100,300.00/yr - $206,000.00/yr Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $165,500.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $206,000.00 Relocation assistance may be available. Compensation varies by location and experience. Northrop Grumman considers multiple factors when determining base salary offers, including responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
