Akkodis is seeking a Project Engineer for a 6+ months contract with a client located in Phoenix, AZ. Pay Range: $60/hr - $63/hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.) Summary: The team is in need of a strong Project Engineer to help lead and execute the team through extremely fast new centerline military engine design programs & efforts. To meet the needs of the marketplace in the face of stiff competition, the team must rapidly develop new engines and support existing engines to be the best in the marketplace through execution of world-class project management. Key Responsibilities: Lead design and development activity of the engine system through all aspects of the client IPDS process on schedule, on budget, and in compliance with all technical requirements. Key aspects include requirements validation and verification, resolution of key technical challenges, acquisition of hardware, management of fabrication cost, and execution of qualification tasks. Broad indirect span of control of approximately 5-10 full-time equivalent engineers with peak execution periods of 15+. Cost account manager for assigned scope, including Earned Value Management System reporting. Annual budgetary responsibility approximately $3M-$8M or more. Additional Responsibilities: Expected to serve as an engineering leader for multiple programs or work streams. Strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Exceptional Project Management (MS Project) and Planning Skills. Agile / Jira Execution Skills highly sought. Leadership capability with diverse, cross-functional international team. Escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization. Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work. Implement design-to-cost and variation-reduction strategies. Promote and build strong team, culture, and working relationships. Manage within very difficult resource constraints. Identify gaps and risks on behalf of the team. Balances workload with team members. Monitor work of team members to recognize when they are stuck or off track. Approve schedules and budgeted time for the tasks of the team members. Must Have: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Minimum 10 years directly related engineering experience in the design, development, manufacture, and/or test of gas turbine engines or similarly complex mechanical systems. We Value: Must be results-oriented. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and manage customers, both internal and external. Demonstrated ability as an expert in the field of gas turbine engine module or system development and project management. Ability & willing to travel internationally to support program execution and customer interactions. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional international teams in a matrix organization to accomplish technical objectives under strict schedule constraints, including risk assessment, problem-solving, decision-making, motivation. Ability to investigate broad, complex, and ambiguously defined challenges, rally team consensus around the scope and approach to resolution, and lead the team to resolution. Capability to facilitate interpersonal relationships and resolve conflicts tactfully and effectively within client and externally with suppliers and customers. Ability to promote customer satisfaction with capability to establish strong business and personal relationships with customers and suppliers (internal and external). Ability to escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization. This position requires the use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
