Description We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong background in backend engineering, specializing in application deployment, automated continuous integration testing, and performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will ensure the visibility of key metrics to inform developers\' decision-making processes.
Location: Remote or Local to Washington DC
Rate: $45 - $50 an hour
Note: This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For W2 consultants, benefits include medical, dental, and vision, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Communication and Collaboration:
Demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment. Share progress, seek assistance when needed, and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Continuous Learning:
Exhibit eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and best practices in web development and cloud infrastructure management.
Technology Knowledge:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of agile practices, relevant technologies, and security best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
Version Control:
Proficiency with Git for collaborative development and managing codebase changes.
Terraform:
Basic understanding of IaC and experience with Terraform for provisioning on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
CI/CD Pipelines:
Experience with GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, and Jenkins.
Scripting & Automation:
Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go, and PowerShell.
Linux & System Administration:
Strong understanding of file systems, process management, and performance tuning.
AWS Services:
Familiarity with core AWS services (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EC2, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch).
Database Management:
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
Experience Requirements
5 years of experience with AWS, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and scripting (Python, Bash).
3 years of experience with TypeScript/JavaScript.
Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
Note: The posted pay range reflects a W2 hourly rate. Other employment options may be available that could result in pay outside the range.
