VOALA is seeking a Monitor to provide security for program premises and safety for clients, visitors, and staff. Driving ability is preferred. Responsibilities
Shelter security: monitor entrance, screen bags and persons, patrol premises to prevent/ detect intrusions, and maintain security of doors, windows, and gates. Shelter safety: observe operations, report and correct unsafe conditions, know fire exits, assist during emergencies, conduct client room checks, and coordinate with clinical/case management staff. Asset protection: protect shelter assets, report suspicious events, and complete written incident reports. Act as a role model for participants; prioritize clients/patients and maintain professional conduct. Client/participant support: monitor doors, greet visitors, maintain sanitation in common areas, assist with services and activities, and, if licensed, perform driving tasks for participants. Driving tasks (for licensed monitors): transport participants, assist with wheelchairs/ mobility devices, ensure safety, and maintain trip/mileage records. Keep program vehicle in good condition and arrange routine maintenance. Other duties as required; may be subject to change. Qualifications
Requirements
Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance and background check (criminal history, references, employment and education verifications). Education
Within 30 days of hire, must successfully complete VOALA safety training. Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Current California driver’s license with a clean driving record; knowledge of CA driving laws Database familiarity Clean driving record to be insurable by VOALA Volunteers of America is an Equal Opportunity employer.
