We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join the Genomics Medicine Unit at Sanofi and play a role in executing in vivo studies to develop best-in-class gene therapies. The successful candidate will support in vivo experiments to help with the development of gene therapy and other strategies addressing neurologic, neuromuscular, immunology, ocular, rare blood, renal, and metabolic diseases and participate in the successful translation of pre-clinical gene therapy programs. Main Responsibilities:

Execute rodent pharmacology studies that evaluate gene therapy candidates Contribute to several experiments simultaneously and perform in a time-sensitive manner Develop and carry out research involving various animal laboratory techniques, including surgery, therapeutic administration, behavioral testing, and tissue/blood collection Communicate and coordinate with other scientists on the project team to draft, finalize, and implement study protocols. Follow protocols, standard operating procedures, and independently execute tasks Collect and record data, prepare a summary of experimental procedures and results, and present data in team meetings and across disease areas to support the Genomic Medicine Unit at large Act as an impactful contributor working in a team or as an individual member Foster creativity, productivity, execution with a sense of urgency, teamwork, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration Qualifications:

MS in life science with a minimum of 3 years of experience or BS in life science with a minimum of 6 years of experience in biotech/biopharma industry with hands-on working experience using research animals is required Demonstrated experience and expertise in multiple delivery routes of administration into mice and rats, as well as an understanding of behavioral analysis tools with mice and rats, is required Surgical experience with mice and rats and the willingness to learn multiple surgical delivery techniques, including stereotaxic delivery, is preferred for the successful candidate Candidates with experience with in vivo ocular studies in rodent models, including OCT imaging and ocular dosing procedures, such as intravitreal delivery, are encouraged to apply Strong background experience with rodent tissue collection and tissue collection techniques is required Experience designing pharmacological testing in various animal models with behavioral, biochemical, and physiological endpoints is a plus Demonstratable organizational skills and attention to detail will be an advantage for the applicant Ability to effectively communicate ideas, document, and present research, plus work in a collaborative environment, is essential for the successful candidate Why Choose Us?
