Job Summary:
Clinical outpatient consultations
Inpatient consultations inclusive of day and night service in the Medical ICU
Share on-call responsibilities with other clinical faculty to provide 24/7 coverage
Participate in the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners
Engage in the academic mission of the Division and develop a robust research program in any of the pillar areas of the Division
Responsibilities
Provide clinical care in outpatient and inpatient pulmonary and critical care settings.
Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners.
Contribute to the Division's academic mission and develop research in pillar areas of the Division.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Instructor:
Board Eligible or Certification in Pulmonary Science or Critical Care Medicine; completion of Pulmonary Sciences or Internal Medicine Fellowship (ACGME accredited); ability to obtain Colorado medical license with prescriptive privileges by hire; MD from an accredited medical school.
Senior Instructor:
0-2 years of experience in Pulmonary Sciences or Critical Care; Board Eligible or Certification in Pulmonary Science or Critical Care Medicine; completion of Pulmonary Sciences or Internal Medicine Fellowship (ACGME accredited); ability to obtain Colorado medical license with prescriptive privileges by hire; MD from an accredited medical school.
Assistant Professor:
2-4 years of Pulmonary Sciences or Critical Care experience or residency; Board Eligible or Certification in Pulmonary Science or Critical Care Medicine; completion of Pulmonary Sciences or Internal Medicine Fellowship (ACGME accredited); ability to obtain Colorado medical license with prescriptive privileges by hire; MD from an accredited medical school.
Associate Professor:
Current or past Assistant/Associate Professor appointment; 4+ years in Pulmonary Sciences or Critical Care; Board Eligible or Certification; completion of Fellowship (ACGME); ability to obtain Colorado license by hire; MD from an accredited medical school.
Professor:
Current or past Associate Professor or Professor; 7+ years in Pulmonary Sciences or Critical Care; Board Eligible or Certification; completion of Fellowship (ACGME); ability to obtain Colorado license by hire; MD from an accredited medical school.
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in development of Pulmonary Sciences or Critical Care Medicine in a community setting
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
General Internal Medicine knowledge; advanced lung disease and critical illness-related knowledge
Pulmonary Medicine, Intensive Care, or Subspecialty background
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of standard inpatient and outpatient clinical operations and procedures
Knowledge of diagnoses in disorders and diseases of the lungs
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skilled in EMR usage and standard office software
Ability to develop collaborative or independent research projects
Ability to educate learners of various levels
