Site Directors lead dynamic summer camps for K–8th grade, serving as both site General Managers and the public face of Galileo Learning. Under the direction of a Field Program Manager you will open and operate a Camp Galileo location serving campers and their families within your community. Responsibilities

Infuse camp with Galileo’s spirit: build an inclusive environment where every camper, staff member, and family feels seen, supported, and inspired. Lead with ownership and vision: manage every aspect of your camp’s launch from preseason planning through end-of-summer wrap-up, including daily operations, parent communication, program delivery, and exceptional customer care. Ensure safety and smooth operations: prioritize camper safety and family trust, anticipate needs, and problem-solve to keep camp running smoothly. Develop and manage your team: train and mentor 10–40 staff, set expectations for instructional and program standards, provide ongoing feedback, and handle staffing, scheduling, and payroll. Model creativity and innovation: apply the Galileo Innovation Approach (GIA) to foster curiosity and problem-solving while aligning spirit and operations to Galileo’s mission. Build partnerships: serve as the primary camp face, communicate proactively with families, facilities partners, HQ support, and community partners; collaborate with your Field Program Manager and cultivate trust with staff and campers. Location & Work Schedule

This is a seasonal role running February–September 2026, with a phased schedule that varies by camp placement: Phase One: Training & Prep (Feb–Jun/Jul): Up to 15 hours/week, mostly flexible/remote; some in-person commitments, training, and prep at camp. Phase Two: On-Site (Jun–Aug): On-site hours typically 7:00 AM–6:00 PM (Mon–Fri), averaging 45+ hours/week for 5–8 weeks. Phase Three: Wrap-Up (Aug–Sept): Up to 5 hours total, remote, for final admin tasks and staff reviews. Compensation (Year 1 estimate)

Preseason: $23/hour for flexible prep and training Camp Season: $1,450/week as a full-time, exempt Camp Director during summer operations Postseason: $23/hour for light part-time work Bonus/Commission: $1 per camper-week enrollment plus potential commission for add-on weeks Exact compensation may vary by geography and tenure. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs; computer use; extended periods of standing or sitting; in-person and virtual communication.
