The Department of Neurosurgery at CU Anschutz has an opening for a full-time research faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, with a focus in brain tumor research. The Department aims to build a multidisciplinary group of investigators driving research discovery and novel therapeutic advances in neuro-oncology. The faculty member will collaborate with other researchers and clinicians within the Department and develop collaborations across the Anschutz Medical Campus. Responsibilities

Conduct research in neuro-oncology, tumor immunology, tumor genomics, cancer neuroscience, and tumor epidemiology. Collaborate with physicians-scientists and scientists within and outside the Department. Immunology: identify susceptibilities and develop novel therapeutics (including CAR-T cells, bispecific T cell engagers, checkpoint inhibition strategies, and other immunotherapeutic modalities or adjuncts). Genomics: apply single-cell "omics" approaches to identify novel targets and susceptibilities related to brain tumors. Cancer neuroscience: characterize interactions between tumors and intracranial environments to identify mechanistic targets. Tumor epidemiology: identify risk factors, susceptible populations, and differences in treatment responders vs. non-responders. Mentor graduate/medical students, postdoctoral fellows, residents, fellows, and research staff. Obtain extramural funding and publish high-impact manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. Provide academic leadership and service to the Department, School, University and profession. Work Location

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Oncology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Genetics, Epidemiology, or similar Evidence of previous research grant submissions Publications and accomplishments in neuro-oncology, tumor immunology, tumor genomics, neuroscience, or epidemiology Preferred Qualifications

Experience with team-based research and inclusive environments Experience in grant writing, grant/manuscript review, and lab operations Experience heading an independent laboratory at an academic institution Benefits
