VP of Operations Position Summary The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager provides strategic leadership and hands-on support to ensure a proactive and compliant safety culture across Envases USA’s PET preform and bottle manufacturing facilities. This role oversees EHS programs for sites located in Amherst, NH; Nashua, NH; Milford, NH; Bethlehem, PA; Pennsauken, NJ; and Temecula, CA. The EHS Manager ensures regulatory compliance, drives continuous improvement in EHS performance, and fosters employee engagement in safety initiatives. The position requires frequent site visits, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to lead both strategic initiatives and daily tactical support. Essential Job Functions Champion a Safety-First culture through leadership visibility, employee engagement, and operational discipline. Manage and implement EHS policies, procedures, and initiatives across all assigned sites. Monitor regulatory changes (OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, DEP, etc.) and ensure timely compliance across all applicable jurisdictions. Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained. Conduct regular site audits and inspections, hazard assessments, and safety observations; provide actionable feedback and track follow-up items. Design, deliver, and oversee safety training programs tailored to manufacturing operations, including new hire onboarding, annual refreshers, and compliance topics. Manage PPE programs, industrial hygiene efforts, and employee exposure monitoring for chemicals, noise, heat, etc. Lead emergency preparedness and response planning, including evacuation drills and environmental spill response. Collaborate with site leadership, HR, Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to identify risks and support continuous improvement projects. Coordinate with local, state, and federal environmental and safety agencies as needed. Develop, track, and report EHS KPIs, goals, and budget requirements. Participate in industry forums, maintain awareness of best practices, and drive benchmarking initiatives across sites. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field required. In lieu of a degree, at least 5 years in an EHS leadership role plus required experience below. Experience: Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics or related industry preferred). Minimum 2 years of experience managing or leading EHS teams across multiple locations. Proven ability to manage EHS programs for 24/7 manufacturing operations with >50 employees. Knowledge of California safety regulations (Cal/OSHA) preferred due to Temecula site oversight. Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state-specific regulations (NH, PA, NJ, CA). Experience conducting industrial hygiene monitoring and implementing hazard mitigation strategies. Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to lead large-scale EHS initiatives. Strong presentation, training, and communication skills across all levels of the organization. Proficient in MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, and EHS management systems. Ability to travel 50% of the time across assigned sites outside of New Hampshire. Preferred Certifications OSHA 30-hour or equivalent First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification HAZWOPER Certification CSP, CIH, or CHMM preferred Work Environment & Physical Requirements Frequent presence in manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor environments. Required to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. Exposure to noise, chemicals, heat, and machinery. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends based on operational demands. Why Join Envases USA?
