to join a prestigious and private club located in Washington, DC serving UHNW clientele. The club offers a refined dining experience to its distinguished membership. This role is integral to the culinary team, with a focus on delivering exceptional food offerings and contributing to an elevated and memorable dining experience. Position Overview
The
Cook
will be responsible for planning, prep, and providing quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in the designated outlets in accordance with standards, recipes, and plating guide specifications. They will maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment, in addition to preparing menu items at the assigned station, ensuring food quality that meets the set standards. Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes from assigned station. Communicates frequently and clearly to the Chef de Partie as to orders and progress on orders. Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and club requirements. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental/club policies and procedures. Meet with Junior Sous Chef/Sous Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes, and other information pertinent to the job performance. Inspect the cleanliness and organization of the workstations; rectify any deficiencies and maintain throughout the shift. Organize all of the various prep items needed from different areas to ensure that all items are in place and ready for assigned service. Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to department standards. Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and club requirements. Minimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food cost. Complete opening and closing duties, including but not limited to: set up workstation with mise en place, inspect tools and equipment, check production schedule and pars, establish priority items for the day, and inform the Junior Sous Chef of supplies to requisition for the day's tasks. Qualifications & Experience
Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship or at least 2 years’ experience as a cook in a luxury establishment. Proven cooking experience, including experience in a similar position. Ability to satisfactorily communicate in job-related English. Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Ability to work varied shifts and a flexible schedule in a hot, humid, and noisy environment. Why Join Us
