Overview
A Japanese food trading corporation is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA compliance across transportation and warehouse operations. This role promotes a strong safety culture through training, inspections, and regulatory excellence. Responsibilities
DOT & FMCSA Compliance Oversight : Ensure adherence to DOT regulations, manage driver logs, vehicle inspections, CSA scores, and lead corrective actions across branches. Driver Safety & Training : Conduct inspections, coach drivers, develop safety programs, and deliver ongoing training to promote defensive driving and accident prevention. Fleet Technology Management : Oversee GPS, ELD, dash cams, and other safety tech to monitor and improve driver performance and compliance. Warehouse Safety & OSHA Compliance : Implement and enforce occupational health and safety programs, conduct audits, manage OSHA logs, and lead incident investigations. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with HR, Operations, and other departments to align safety goals, manage claims, and support return-to-work programs. Continuous Improvement & Reporting : Lead safety meetings, stay current on regulations, drive safety culture enhancements, and maintain detailed compliance records. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering/Management, Transportation Management or a related field. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in CDL/DOT/FMCSA compliance and transportation/warehouse safety. Relevant certifications (OSHA, CDL, CSP) are a plus. Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, CSA and other relevant regulations. Business level Japanese or Spanish preferred. Able to work evening or weekends as needed. Base Salary
