Job Summary
The School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor (12MO), Health Policy & Management (Tenure Track). The successful candidate will:
Possess specialization in healthcare administration, management, information technology, quality improvement, and/or financing. Bring a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, including an interest in non-traditional teaching such as online, certificate, or executive training. Demonstrate a trajectory towards securing extramural funding to support pedagogical innovation and/or research and provide evidence of a commitment to diversity in their scholarship and teaching. Demonstrate the ability to further the mission of the School of Public Health: To advance public health knowledge. To promote health and well-being. To prevent disease and disability within communities underserved by our healthcare systems, particularly urban and immigrant communities. Additionally, the candidate is expected to: Create and teach graduate courses in healthcare administration both in-person and online. Provide leadership in development and implementation of future programs, including an Executive MHA Program. Build and sustain extramural funding to support pedagogical innovation and/or research. Mentor students to become healthcare leaders, scholars, and practitioners. Engage activity with the communities we serve.
Required Qualifications
Doctoral Degree (PhD, MD, JD, etc.). Demonstrated track record of excellence in leadership, scholarship, teaching, and evidence of a commitment to diversity. Familiarity with the CAHME and accreditation process.
