Rappahannock Community College (RCC) invites applications for a Student Support Services Counselor. This is a full-time, 12-month, restricted professional faculty appointment with an excellent benefits package.
The Student Support Services (SSS) Program is a federal TRiO Program funded through the U.S. Department of Education to provide academic, career, and financial counseling to eligible students. The SSS Counselor plays a vital role in supporting the academic, personal, and professional success of program participants.
Responsibilities include recruiting eligible program participants, assisting students with academic planning, financial aid and scholarship guidance, transfer preparation, and career exploration. The SSS Counselor also develops and facilitates workshops, coordinates cultural and educational activities, maintains accurate student records, and ensures compliance with federal TRiO program regulations.
Requirements include a Master’s degree in education, counseling, or a relevant field, and experience in advising and counseling. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, continuous improvement through professional development, and creating a collegial environment of civility, collaboration, and open communication.
