Assistant Professor
position in Modern Britain and Its Empire beginning in August 2026. The department seeks highly qualified candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. Candidates should be prepared to teach in the department’s world history sequence, as well as methodology courses required for the History major, and participate in the online history B.A. program. Teach courses in the candidate’s specialization at undergraduate and graduate levels, including World History sequence and methodology courses for the History major. Contribute to the department’s online B.A. program and to the University’s general education curriculum. Participate in scholarly research and professional activities; engage in service to the department and university as appropriate. Qualifications
Required PhD in History (or anticipated by July 2026) At least one year of teaching experience Ability to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and research Preferred Experience with contributing to general education or online program instruction Application Materials
