Position Summary Daily management of the Center for Applied Isotope Studies (CAIS) Plasma Chemistry Laboratory at UGA. Collaborate with researchers to develop methods to major and trace metals analysis applications in forensic science, archaeology, biotechnology, and earth sciences. Operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, including inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometers (ICP-MS), optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), direct mercury analyzers (DMA), and a laser-ablation-ICP-MS. Direct supervision of one staff member (Research Professional).
Minimum Qualifications Minimum education required: PhD in Chemistry.
Additional Requirements Minimum experience required: Two years of experience including analytical chemistry applications in forensics, anthropology/archaeology, biotechnology, and/or earth sciences; inductively coupled plasma (ICP) technologies; applying laser ablation (LA) methods.
