Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Staff Accountant
to join our family office team. This role will be responsible for managing daily bookkeeping and the accounting functions of multiple business entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Base pay range
$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the general ledger and financial records for multiple business entities.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations across all entities.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and client invoicing.
Process payroll and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns, working with outside tax advisors as needed.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for various entities.
Prepare journal entries and ensure accuracy of accruals, allocations, and intercompany transactions.
Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support executive decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
3+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to multiple business entities or family office/private company accounting.
Strong proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Solid understanding of GAAP and tax compliance.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
