One of Vaco’s family-owned clients in the commercial construction space is looking to onboard a
Senior Staff Accountant
in a newly created role to support company growth. This position offers the opportunity to broaden skillsets by handling diverse responsibilities. The team has received positive feedback on the culture and environment, including the Controller to whom this role will report.
Compensation: $80-85K
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of general ledger entries.
Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and statements.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit schedules.
Assist in the preparation of budget reports and forecasts.
Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
Identify areas for improving accounting processes and workflows.
Participate in the implementation of new accounting software or systems when applicable.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or working towards CPA is a plus.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains) preferred.
