Responsibilities Under the general supervision of an Office Service Manager I, in the Information Validation Section (IVS) of the Processing Services Bureau (PSB), the Tax Program Supervisor plans, organizes, and directs the work of processing and service units that are engaged in clerical and technical activities. The incumbent supervises and provides technical assistance to employees responsible for the accurate processing of Personal Income Tax (PIT) returns and payments by use of the Return Analysis (RA), Taxpayer Information (TI), Case Management (CM), and other systems necessary.
Qualifications Desirable Qualifications: The factors below will provide the basis for competitively evaluating candidates in addition to the minimum qualifications listed in the Classification Specification.
Working knowledge of Franchise Tax Board (FTB) systems: Case Management (CM), Taxpayer Folder (TPF) and Taxpayer Information (TI)
Ability to establish priorities and allocate resources to maintain a consistent workflow to assist with eliminating backlogs wherever possible
Ability to review and monitor the work and activities of others to ensure appropriateness, accuracy, and consistency with procedures, directives, and policies
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate, mentor, and build teams
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain cooperative working relationships with others at all levels
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment
Flexible and willing to learn in an environment that is fast-paced and ever changing
Ability to effectively communicate directives and expectations in writing and verbally
