Base pay range
$60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr Accountants One has been hired by a successful and growing consumer products company in the Grant Park area to recruit a Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-volume transaction environment (largely automated) within the consumer products industry that sells to big-box retailers. This role requires strong Excel proficiency and comfort with reviewing and recording balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries. Duties: Manage a High-Volume Transaction Environment : Review and record balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries (the system is largely automated, but accuracy and oversight are critical). Monthly Patent License Revenue Tracker : Maintain and update tracker to ensure accurate revenue accounting. Proficiency in Excel : Use advanced Excel skills daily to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and support financial reporting. Close the Books:
Take the lead on monthly close and own the process from start to finish, with support from the Director of Finance. Accounting Liaison & Department Coordination:
Serve as the primary resource for accounting-related questions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Collaborate with all departments to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and implement new policies to enhance operational efficiency. Microsoft Dynamics & True Commerce EDI : Collaborate with the team to ensure automated transactions are flowing correctly and the system remains accurate and up to date. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree
in Accounting or a related field. 1+ years
of experience in journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ideally in a high-volume setting. Strong Excel Skills
(must be comfortable with formulas, data analysis, etc.). ERP Experience
(Microsoft Dynamics preferred or similar). Excellent Communication
skills to proactively connect with various departments. Consumer Products Industry
experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with
big-box retailer
