We are looking for an experienced tax professional to join our team as a Remote Expatriate Tax Preparer (CPA / EA). This role is pivotal in freeing up the owner’s time to focus on firm strategy and growth. We’re looking for a key team member who wants to grow with us as we scale and plan to double or triple our client workload. Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review complex U.S. expatriate tax returns (Forms 1040, 2555, 1116, 8938, 8858, 8865, 5471, 8621, plus FBAR filings). Communicate directly with clients via email, phone, and video — gathering information, answering questions, and delivering excellent service. Support and help manage the firm’s federal & state tax notice tracking and response program. Serve as the point person for the firm’s SurePrep software. Collaborate with the Director of Tax Services and other team members to manage workflow, review returns, and ensure quality. Step in across the preparation process — from initial data entry to final review — to ensure smooth client experiences. Requirements

Licensure: Active CPA or EA license. Experience: At least 3 years of full-time expatriate tax preparation within the last 5 years (5+ preferred). Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (location flexible). Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of expat filings, including 1040 with schedules A–E, 2555, 1116, 8938, FBARs; experience with 5471, 8621, 8858, 8865 strongly preferred. Communication: Strong customer service and client-interaction skills. Availability to Travel: One in-person company retreat annually. Helpful, But Not Required

Experience preparing returns for expatriates in Singapore or the Netherlands. Prior use of UltraTax software. Familiarity with Karbon, Canopy, or TaxDome practice management tools. Position Details & Benefits

Employment: Full-time, permanent (30 hrs/week possible). Work Environment: 100% remote with flexible hours. Compensation: Competitive salary plus a share of the firm’s quarterly bonus pool.
