Staff Accountant to join our Warren, NJ office location. This is a tremendous opportunity for experienced candidates to join and contribute to the growth of a 100% employee-owned engineering firm. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post monthly journal entries to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting; Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations, researching and resolving variances; Review billing, prepare accruals, and support month-end close activities; Assist with the preparation of internal financial statements and management reports; Review invoices, expense reports, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies; Set up new vendors and subcontractors, ensuring all required documentation is collected and verified (e.g., W-9s, Certificates of Insurance, contracts, and other compliance materials); Reconcile general ledger accounts and support the month-end and year-end close process; Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed; Support year-end audit requests and provide documentation to external auditors; Apply knowledge of lease accounting and fixed asset accounting to maintain accurate records and depreciation schedules; Ensure compliance with internal controls and contribute to process improvement initiatives; Perform other accounting duties and projects as assigned by the CFO; and This is an in-office position based in our Warren, NJ office. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Minimum of 2+ years of progressive accounting experience; Strong understanding of accounting principles; Knowledge of lease accounting and fixed asset accounting; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint preferred); Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy; Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; and Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
