LHH is working with a prominent real estate firm in the Dallas area that is adding a new Staff Accountant to their team. The company has a robust financial foundation and proven history of strong performance, and they are seeking a dynamic individual to execute accounting functions pertaining to designated properties, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements. As they endeavor to establish an internal accounting team and framework, your input on policy, processes, and procedures will be highly valued. Job Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive accounting tasks, encompassing full-cycle accounts payable procedures, journal entry management, monthly accruals and amortizations, and meticulous reconciliation of balance sheets. Oversee financial matters for multiple properties within our portfolio. Address inquiries from Property Managers concerning monthly expenditures, invoice categorization, and end-of-month reporting. Collaborate in the formulation of annual budgets. Review monthly financial reports, Gross Potential Rent summaries, and other accounts receivable balances. Calculate and process property management fees on a monthly basis. Prepare month-end reporting packages, analyzing budget-to-actual variances. Compile annual work papers and reconciliations for year-end tax filings and external audits. Support the Controller in conducting cash flow analyses. Identify opportunities for process enhancement, contributing to operational efficiencies. Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Possess at least 1 year of prior experience in real estate property-level accrual basis accounting. Previous involvement in multi-unit property accounting is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Familiarity with accounting software such as Entrata, MRI, or Yardi is preferred.
