Overview

The Johns Hopkins University – Laboratory Technician (Biology) – 119056 at the Farber Lab, Department of Biology. The Laboratory Technician will perform routine laboratory processes and follow routine protocols under close supervision. Responsibilities

Operate standard equipment. Use standard procedures for specific laboratory tests and preparation techniques. Assist with laboratory maintenance, prepare solutions, and order supplies. Identify and report problems in the completion of routine lab processes. Provide fish room backup coverage and assist in maintaining all Farber common fish stocks. Assist Lab Coordinator as needed. Design and perform experiments under the mentorship of senior lab staff/personnel. Keep detailed records of all experiments. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or graduation equivalent. Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications

Some science coursework and/or a training certificate from a technical institute. Technical Skills & Proficiency
