Overview
Linux Systems Administrator 2/3 - Secret role at Northrop Grumman. On-site position located in Melbourne, FL. Clearance required: Secret. Travel: Yes, up to 10% of the time. Relocation assistance may be available.
Responsibilities
Maintain the virtual desktop infrastructure and Linux systems supporting Government programs in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines.
Monitor and maintain system hardware and application performance to meet program requirements for Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Ensure system hardware, software, and procedures adhere to the system’s approved and controlled architecture and configuration.
Configure and manage system authentication and access control while executing procedures for system configuration updates to support production environments.
Red Hat Linux troubleshooting and support; system management with Red Hat Satellite; Red Hat Ansible script development and administration.
Manage VMware/Omnissa Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployments using Windows and Red Hat instant clone desktops; basic vCenter administration.
Resolve problems using internal and external groups to correct issues within the environment.
Basic Qualifications For Level 2
Master\'s Degree with 0 years of experience; OR Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience; OR Associate\'s Degree with 4 years; OR High School Diploma with 6 years of experience.
Security+ CE certification (or greater) required; certification maintenance is a condition of continued employment.
Current DoD Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) to be considered; ability to obtain/maintain access to Special Programs.
1+ years of experience in enterprise IT environments; 1+ years of basic Microsoft Windows domain experience; 1+ years of Red Hat or equivalent Linux administration experience.
Understanding of LDAP, DNS & DHCP concepts for troubleshooting in Linux environments.
Experience with Linux partitioning, formatting, and mounting (including LVM); installation and hardening of Red Hat Linux per DISA STIG guidance (bare-metal and virtualized).
Familiarity with firewalld, SELinux, aides, and auditd; experience with Red Hat Linux OS installation, configuration, and updates (including COTS software).
Basic Qualifications For Level 3
Master\'s Degree with 3 years of experience; OR Bachelor\'s Degree with 5 years; OR Associate\'s Degree with 7 years; OR High School Diploma with 9 years of experience.
Security+ CE certification (or greater) required; certification maintenance is a condition of continued employment.
Current DoD Secret level security clearance (at a minimum); ability to obtain/maintain access to Special Programs.
2+ years of enterprise IT experience; 3 years of Windows domain experience; 3 years of Red Hat or equivalent Linux administration experience.
Understanding of LDAP, DNS & DHCP concepts; Linux filesystem management (partitioning/formating/mounting, including LVM); DISA STIG guidance hardening.
Experience with firewalld, SELinux, aide, auditd; Red Hat Linux OS installation and updates; day-to-day admin tasks on Red Hat Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology.
Active Top Secret, TS/SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph is preferred.
RHCSA or Linux+ certification.
Experience supporting Red Hat desktop pools, instant clones, and golden images in VMware Horizon.
Strong understanding of STIGs, RMF, and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
Experience on classified networks and/or disconnected networks.
Networking knowledge (subnets, routing, VLANs); Cisco experience/certification; Windows AD, LDAP, VMWare, SAN storage familiarity.
VMware administration experience; Splunk Enterprise deployment/configuration; environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/SolarWinds/Nessus).
Scripting experience (bash, Python, PowerShell); Ansible configuration management.
Experience creating and deploying system images in an enterprise environment.
Salary and Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00; Secondary Level Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions when determining base pay. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives may apply. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401k matching, paid holidays, and PTO.
