The Northrop Grumman Classified Solutions team is seeking an experienced

Linux Systems Administrator

to join its dynamic team of technical professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems support team in Melbourne, FL. Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. Applicants are encouraged to apply, only if they are willing to work on-site. Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Maintain the virtual desktop infrastructure and Linux systems supporting Government programs in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines

Monitor and maintain system hardware and application performance to meet program requirements for Service Level Agreements (SLA)

Ensure that system hardware, software, and related procedures adhere to the system’s approved and controlled architecture and configuration

Configure and manage system authentication and access control while executing procedures for system configuration updates to support production environments

Red Hat Linux troubleshooting and support

System management with Red Hat Satellite

Red Hat Ansible script development and script administration

Manage VMware/Omnissa Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployments using Windows and Red Hat instant clone desktops

Understanding of VMware best practices and vCenter administration basics

Resolve problems using internal and external groups, as needed, to correct trouble within the environment

Basic Qualifications for Level 2: Master's Degree with 0 years of experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 4 years of experience; OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 6 years of experience is required

Must have a Security+ CE certification (or greater) to be considered; maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment

Candidates must have a current DOD

Secret

level security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered

Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to

Special Programs

as a condition of continued employment

1+ years' experience working in enterprise environments within the Information Technology field

1+ years of basic Microsoft Windows domain experience

1+ years of Red Hat or equivalent Linux operating system administration experience

Understanding of basic LDAP, DNS & DHCP concepts, being able to query these services to troubleshoot issues in Linux environments

Experience managing partitioning, formatting, & mounting of Linux filesystems to include LVM

Strong familiarity with the installation & hardening of Linux operating systems according to DISA STIG guidance (bare-metal and virtualized)

Knowledge of & ability to manipulate various operating system tools & services, such as firewalld, SELinux, aide, & auditd

Experience installing, configuring, & routinely updating Red Hat Linux operating systems including COTS software

General experience performing day-to-day administrative tasks related to managing Red Hat Linux systems

Basic Qualifications for Level 3

: Master's Degree with 3 years of experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience; OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 9 years of experience is required

Must have a Security+ CE certification (or greater) to be considered; maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment

Preferred Qualifications

: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology

Active Top Secret, TS/SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph is preferred

RHCSA certification or Linux + certification

Experience supporting Red Hat desktop pools, instant clones, golden images in VMware Horizon

Deep understanding of STIG’s, RMF & remediating of security vulnerabilities

Experience working on classified networks and/or disconnected networks

Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification

Windows AD, LDAP, VMWare, and knowledge of SAN storage systems

VMWare 8+ Administration experience

Working knowledge with Splunk Enterprise deployment and configuration

Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Nessus)

Scripting experience with languages such as bash, python, or PowerShell

Configuration management via use of Ansible & Ansible Automation Platform

Experience with the creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment

Primary Level Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
