Dezign Concepts
Overview
This group in Texas is considered the Linux Center of Excellence & Automation to provide secure STE/STN Linux hardened images to the Agency, including platforms such as C2E, MachineShop, eVo, and CMI6. The role involves analyzing and resolving complex problems in server hardware, applications, and software integration; configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems; installing software; troubleshooting; maintaining system integrity; and implementing OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems; manages IT system infrastructure and related processes.
Provides day-to-day operation support and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and related equipment.
Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution.
Provides support for escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
Supports the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components; implements OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Experience/Qualifications
Citizenship: US Citizenship required.
Clearance: Active Top-Secret SCI with Polygraph required.
Senior Linux scripting, Linux servers, CentOS 7 and 8; Red Hat 8.
Fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Architect (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Proficiency with Linux and modern automation/configuration tools.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
Familiarity with full lifecycle management of Linux systems: provisioning, configuration management, and patching.
Ability to support system design, mission architecture and related hardware.
Working knowledge of system administration interdependencies as part of a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
