A Logistics Technician job is available with the City of Fort Worth Logistics department with the Fort Worth Fire Department. The Logistics Department is responsible for managing all medical supplies and equipment for the ambulance fleet. Primary duties include: Monitoring expiration dates of medications and supplies. Maintaining accurate inventory counts and stock levels. Ensuring availability of essential supplies for operations. Receiving, inspecting, and processing supply orders. The department ensures ambulances remain fully stocked, compliant, and ready for service. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED Valid driver’s license Must pass Drug Screen, Physical. Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in supply chain, inventory management, or a warehouse Familiarity with medical terminology, medications, and equipment Demonstrate ability to analyze supply usage trends Experience with inventory management software Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer proficiency Strong organizational skills and attention to detail The Logistics Technician Job Responsibilities Include
Inventory medical supplies and equipment Perform count of supplies and update inventory management system Track expired medications and supplies Restock bins and ambulances to a Par level of supplies Assist ambulance crews in obtaining new supplies or equipment Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, human excrement, blood, urine, mucous & tissue. Heavy Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
