Astound, the sixth-largest cable operator in the United States, is a leading supplier of cutting-edge technology and communications services. Astound Broadband is currently searching for a Lead, Construction I, II or III in our Wilsonville, OR market. This position is responsible for ensuring quality and timely deliverables of our services building fiber to our customers. Responsibilities

Identify fiber routes, building entry, and internal routing requirements necessary to complete the project. Delegate permitting to permitting team or third-party engineering vendor(s). Assess both engineering and construction project costing using contractor matrix and issue work to contractors using RT. Issue work orders to internal and external resources while following established company processes and procedures. Accurately update costing in financial systems to reflect current costs and to compare and evaluate versus approved budgets. Develop, coordinate and execute project schedules with contractors, property management, customers, vendors, internal stakeholders, municipalities and government agencies. Inspect active construction projects to ensure compliance with company, municipal, or government guidelines related to installation of Astound Broadband Powered by Wave infrastructure. Complete post-construction plant walk-out including as-builts necessary to fulfill company standards, utility and local government requirements. Coordinate and participate in internal meetings and conference calls to ensure communication, alignment, and implementation of best practices. Identify permitting authorities based on proposed routes (municipalities, government entities, utility owners, and other agencies with authority over the right-of-way). Complete necessary permit applications and checks to fulfill permit requirements. Visit permitting authorities to submit applications, pick up permits, obtain status, etc. Other duties as assigned. Ideal Candidate / Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of construction management experience. Ability to manage and complete multiple projects; scope grows with Lead I, Fiber Construction through Manager, Fiber Construction. Basic understanding of safety practices in construction. Basic understanding of fiber route planning and engineering for building entry and network expansion projects. Basic understanding of the permitting process for railroad, DOT, cities, counties and pole owners. Basic understanding of fiber splicing and installation practices. Basic understanding of network topology and GIS. Basic knowledge of fiber optic principles and methodologies. Ability to build and establish effective relationships with municipalities, government agencies, property management, vendors, etc. Strong Microsoft Office skills; ability to track and analyze data against project forecasts. Strong critical-thinking, attention to detail and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment without supervision. Ability to live within 30 miles, or a maximum 1-hour commute during regular commuting hours from the assigned territory. Territories are defined by management and can be altered at any time. Valid driver's license and auto insurance with a satisfactory driving record. Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to frequently use repetitive motions of the wrist, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to operate standard office equipment, including PC, telephone, copier, facsimile machine, and calculator. Must have the ability to communicate verbally by phone and in person. Must have close visual acuity for viewing a computer terminal, reading, transcribing and analyzing data and figures. Benefits

Competitive compensation including base salary plus uncapped commissions plan. Paid Time Off/Vacation: 80 hours per year and increases based on tenure (region-specific). Base Salary:

The base salary range in Oregon for this position is $27.00/hr - $47.00/hr, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to the state and may not be applicable to other locations.
