Description Astound Broadband is currently searching for a Construction Manager in our San Luis Obispo, CA office, playing a vital role in ensuring quality and timely deliverables of our fiber construction services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Managing capital budgets and schedules for construction projects, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Identifying fiber routes, building entry points, and internal routing requirements.
Ensuring the security and protection of our middle mile infrastructure.
Delegating permitting tasks to the permitting team or third-party vendors.
Assessing project costs and issuing work orders to contractors and internal resources.
Updating financial systems to reflect current costs and budgets.
Developing and executing project schedules with various stakeholders.
Inspecting active projects for compliance with guidelines and standards.
Completing post-construction plant walk-outs and as-builts.
Participating in internal meetings and conference calls to ensure communication and alignment.
Providing training and support to Fiber Construction Leads.
Serving as a subject matter expert on fiber construction solutions and best practices.
Managing permitting processes with authorities and agencies.
Completing permit applications and following up with authorities.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
10+ years of construction management experience.
Ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
Expertise in safety practices, fiber routing, permitting, fiber splicing, network topology, GIS, and fiber optics principles.
Strong relationship-building skills with municipalities, agencies, vendors, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis.
Excellent critical-thinking, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.
