Overview
Pharmacy Manager position with newly increased salary range and relocation available. This role provides empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. It includes preventive and clinical healthcare services, such as immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Responsibilities include managing the pharmacy workflow, inventory, staff performance, and professional development in alignment with regulatory guidelines and company policies. Salary range : Pharmacy Manager $6,594.00-$7,245.00 bi-weekly. Actual pay is based on skills, experience, and geography. Responsibilities
Patient Experience
Engage patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve issues to ensure a positive experience. Model customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive patient experience and demonstrate care and empathy. Anticipate patient needs and promote services such as immunizations, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and related clinical or wellness services. Participate in events that reflect the communities served as requested by leadership.
Operations
Counsel patients on usage, side effects, interactions, privacy, generics, and OTC products; refer to medical providers when needed. Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management. Review, interpret, and dispense prescribed medications in accordance with regulations and policies. Ensure compliant operation of the pharmacy; oversee scheduling, roles, activities, and shift changes; manage opening/closing. Maintain Good Faith Dispensing practices and comply with controlled substance laws. Collaborate with Store Manager on strategic opportunities; maintain IT knowledge for pharmacy systems and support staff and patients. Process insurance claims accurately and resolve issues with insurers and providers; Coordinate with medical providers on prescriptions, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies; perform or support diagnostic testing and disease state management. Manage maintenance and improvements of the pharmacy environment and equipment; prepare records and reports as required by laws.
People & Performance Management
Collaborate on hiring, discipline, and compliance with employment laws; promote teamwork and a shared vision. Oversee training and formal performance reviews; recognize improvements and manage career progression. Address employee relations concerns and maintain morale and positive working relationships.
Training & Personal Development
Maintain licensing/credentialing; pursue ongoing education and professional development. Stay current on pharmacy and healthcare developments and pursue best practices to enhance performance. Complete required education credits and seek feedback for growth; engage mentors as needed.
Communications
Communicate relevant health and wellness information to pharmacy staff and align with store leadership.
Business Performance & Planning
Analyze performance data, manage inventory and asset protection, and identify opportunities for improvement. Build relationships with local medical community and promote health and wellness initiatives.
Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution; current pharmacist licensure in states within the district. Certified Immunizer or willingness to become one within 90 days of hire. At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, compliance, operations, software, and insurance billing. Experience dispensing medications with knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws. Average leadership rating of 3.0+ on last performance review where applicable; no disciplinary actions in last 12 months (internal candidates). About Walgreens
