Provides empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. Offers preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Ensures prescribed medications are compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified accurately according to regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. Manages an efficient pharmacy workflow and improves pharmacy financials, manages inventory effectively, and enhances patient experience. Manages pharmacy staff performance and engagement. Ensures the professional development of pharmacy staff by overseeing training, focused coaching, and executing formal performance management initiatives. Responsibilities

Patient Experience: Engage patients, resolve issues, and provide a positive patient experience. Model customer service best practices and promote a distinctive patient experience (greeting, eye contact, courtesy, empathy, inclusivity). Operations: Counsel patients on medicine usage, drug interactions, and privacy. Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management. Ensure regulatory compliance and efficient pharmacy workflow; oversee scheduling and shift changes. Open/close pharmacy as required. Ensure Good Faith Dispensing compliance with applicable laws. Strategic & IT: Collaborate to develop new business opportunities. Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems, support staff and patients with technology, and seek productivity improvements. Process insurance claims accurately and resolve issues with insurers and providers. Follow up with medical providers as needed. Clinical & Wellness Services: Perform immunizations, diagnostic testing, disease state management, and other healthcare services. Conduct virtual product reviews in appropriate environments and work with centralized support on registrations and issue resolution. Facilities & Compliance: Maintain and improve the pharmacy department, including maintenance, equipment, layout, and records in accordance with state and federal laws. Documentation: Prepare and submit records and reports required by regulations (operating statements, performance indicators, supervision notes, etc.). People & Performance

Collaborate with Store Manager on hiring, discipline, and ensuring legal compliance. Set expectations and goals; promote teamwork and recognize improvements. Manage performance reviews and career progression with Store Manager input. Address employee relations concerns and maintain positive morale. Training & Development

Maintain required licensing and credentials. Pursue ongoing professional development and stay informed on pharmacy and healthcare developments. Complete required education credits and training. Seek feedback and engage mentors. Qualifications

BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution. Current pharmacist licensure in states within the district. Certified Immunizer or willingness to become one within 90 days of hire. At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, compliance, operations, software, and insurance billing. (Some states may have specific requirements.) Experience with prescription dispensing and knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws. Internal candidates: average leadership behavior rating of 3.0 or higher on last performance review with no disciplinary actions in last 12 months. About Walgreens

Supervisory experience in pharmacy staff management. At least 6 months of pharmacy experience with Walgreens Co.
