Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Intensive Care, Per-diem . The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Department has an opening for a Per-diem Registered Nurse at UTower. The Staff Nurse (RN) is responsible for prescribing, coordinating, evaluating, and delivering patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, following the nursing process and standards of care. The RN also guides patient and family education. Responsibilities include:
Assessing patients and documenting nursing care plans. Reporting symptoms, condition changes, and vital signs. Adjusting treatment plans based on patient responses and physician instructions. Reviewing diagnostic tests and evaluating patient status. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to plan and evaluate care. Preparing patients for examinations and procedures. Considering patient age and culture in treatments and providing relevant information. Providing psychological support to nurture a compassionate environment. Administering medications and performing tests within scope of practice. Maintaining accurate medication and treatment records. Communicating care plans timely to patients, families, and team members, complying with regulations like HIPAA. Utilizing best practices for patient care transition and discharge planning. Prioritizing and adjusting work to ensure quality care. Operating medical equipment safely. Serving as a preceptor and supporting new staff integration. Providing feedback and adhering to policies safeguarding university assets. Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. RNs with an ASN have 2 years to complete their BSN. Certification and Licensing:
Valid Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS certification. Experience:
