Schedule: Evenings - 2:30pm-11:00pm - Per diem

Responsibilities
Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex tests as authorized by CLIA (CFR 493.1425, 493.1495, 493.1463) with skill commensurate to education, training, and experience.
Adhere to laboratory procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
Follow established quality control policies and procedures, document corrective actions when tests deviate from specifications, identify problems that may affect test performance, and notify supervisor, Director, or Medical Director as needed.
Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and other disciplines as introduced.
Maintain and calibrate instruments; perform routine maintenance as needed.
Review the accuracy of patient results prior to release or reporting; recognize age-specific differences in expected results from newborns to geriatrics.
Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested consistently with patient samples and comply with reporting requirements to appropriate agencies; collaboration with other labs is restricted prior to reporting PT results.
May perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on various age groups.
Assist in development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures; adhere to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources policies.
In the absence of a supervisor, may be designated Lead Tech for the section or department during the shift.
May have responsibilities related to LIS and/or Point-of-Care testing.
Other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned by the department manager/director.
Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
ASCP certification, or equivalent preferred.
Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423).
Current and Valid State License where required.

Pay Transparency Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital offers competitive compensation. The estimated range for this role is $35.95 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined at hire based on factors including skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
