Assurance Supervisor - Affordable Housing Experience

Overview
This role is designed for a dynamic professional who can handle a variety of assurance and accounting assignments with minimal assistance. As an Assurance Supervisor, you\'ll lead a team of staff accountants, guiding them through their tasks, reviewing their work, and making necessary revisions. You\'ll have the autonomy to make decisions on most assurance and accounting matters, consulting with a manager only on the most complex issues. You\'ll also set up time budgets for projects and lead your team to achieve objectives efficiently. Professional conduct and confidence in interactions with staff and clients are essential. Responsibilities
Working with HUD mortgages, Section 8 rental assistance program, 202/811; rural development; 538 insurance mortgages, 515 loans with rental assistance Handling LIHTCs (Low Income Housing Tax Credits); Bond-financed affordable housing deals; cost certifications Monitoring client impressions of the engagement process. Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of GAAP, OCBOA, and pecialized accounting principles through writing financial statements and reviewing workpapers. Supervising and training senior and staff accountants in technical knowledge. Keeping the manager informed of important developments, analyzing major problems, and recommending solutions. Periodically reviewing working papers, ensuring all phases of the engagement are carried out properly, and anticipating potential issues. Producing high-quality work with quick turnaround and attention to detail. Evaluating performance and providing feedback to senior staff. Actively pursuing CPA licensure if not already obtained. Building professional relationships to develop new business and maintain a positive image in the community. This includes participating in professional, civic, or charitable organizations, delivering talks, and writing articles for publications or the BRC electronic newsletter. Establishing good working relationships with managers and partners. Volunteering in community organizations. Developing industry expertise. Recruiting, developing training aids, and acting as an instructor at in-house CPE sessions. Efficiently supervising both assurance and non-assurance engagements. Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor\'s and/or advanced degree in accounting. 5-6 years\' experience in public accounting CPA certified or candidate. Experience with HUD (Insured mortgages, Section 8 rental assistance programs, 202/811; Rural Development: 538 insured mortgages, 515 loans with rental assistance Experience with LIHTCs; bond-financed affordable housing deals; cost certifications Membership in AICPA and NCACPA, as applicable. Proficiency in using computers and accounting-related software programs. Completion of career development requirements for supervisory level, including CPE requirements. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Valid driver\'s license and good MVR. Essential Physical Requirements
