LHH has partnered with a PE real estate firm on a
Staff/Senior Staff Accountant
to join its growing team in Atlanta. This role is designed for an early-career accounting professional (1–2 years of experience), ideally with a foundation in public accounting and an eagerness to transition into a corporate environment. No prior real estate experience is required—the team will provide the industry-specific training needed. The position offers exposure to both general ledger and property-level accounting, providing a strong foundation for career growth within the firm. Key Responsibilities Prepare and record monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across multiple entities. Assist with property-level accounting, including tracking operating income, expenses, and variance analysis against budgets. Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards. Assist in preparation of financial statements and investor reporting packages. Partner with property managers and internal teams to reconcile operating accounts and resolve discrepancies. Support external audits, including preparation of workpapers and documentation for auditors. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 1+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in public accounting (audit or tax). Exposure to real estate or property accounting is a plus, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi, MRI, or other ERP/accounting software is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
