We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our client’s growing accounting and finance team. This position is ideal for an early-career accounting professional with a strong foundation in accounting (preferably public accounting) and an eagerness to transition into a corporate setting. No prior real estate experience is required; we provide comprehensive training on industry-specific processes and systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience in both general ledger and property-level accounting, laying a solid foundation for long-term career growth within the firm. This is a great opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders and develop a deep understanding of real estate finance operations. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and record monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across multiple legal entities. Assist with property-level accounting, including tracking operating income, expenses, and performing variance analysis against budgets. Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Maintain the general ledger in compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. Assist in preparing financial statements and investor reporting packages. Collaborate with property managers and internal teams to reconcile operating accounts and resolve discrepancies. Support external audit processes by preparing workpapers and supplying necessary documentation to auditors. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 1–2 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in public accounting (audit or tax). Exposure to real estate or property accounting is a plus, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi, MRI, or other ERP/accounting systems is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Seniority level
