Position Overview:
The
Safety Manager
is responsible for overseeing Project Safety and Health (S&H), and Risk Management. This role involves effectively managing multiple Safety programs, developing and implementing site-specific safety plans, and collaborating with Project Management to lead the Operational Risk Management (ORM) process. Position Responsibilities: Creating, developing, and implementing safety training plans and curricula. Conducting new hire orientations (OSHA 10, 30, and CPR/FA training). Redesigning training materials and programs to enhance the employee hands-on training experience. Understanding and interpreting electrical safety standards such as NEC, NFPA 70E, and NESC, and overseeing the NFPA 70E training program. Monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of training programs. Mentoring safety professionals, cross-training, and communicating updates across the organization. Staying current with regulatory, operational, and technical safety management matters. Participating in meetings with clients, project teams, and contractors to advise on risk mitigation, safety training, and technical reports. This position requires approximately 30% local travel within a 2-hour radius. Education & Experience Required: 10+ years of experience with a High School Diploma. 7+ years with an Associate's degree. 5+ years with a Bachelor's degree in safety management (preferably electrical). 3+ years with a Master's degree. Experience in conducting S&H training and expertise in regulatory compliance (1910, 1926, EM-385). Knowledge of Safety Management Systems. Familiarity with standards like ANSI-Z10, OHSAS 18001, ISO 31000. Strong culture-building skills. Trainer Certification (e.g., OSHA 500/502). Degree in Safety and Health from an ABET-accredited program. Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) certification. Willingness to pursue ASP, CSP, CHST, and CESCP certifications. Abilities: Ability to work with extended computer screen exposure. Ability to sit for long periods. Reaching and manipulating objects with hands and fingers. Effective listening and understanding spoken information. Clear verbal communication skills. Reading and comprehending written material. Applying rules to solve specific problems. Understanding and interpreting others' speech.
