Summary: Reporting to the senior finance leader, this role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing a variety of accounting functions, including general ledger management, project cost tracking, payroll data entry, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The position involves executing the following responsibilities, with additional tasks as assigned. Responsibilities
Record and post journal entries to the general ledger, including recurring, adjustment, and correction entries, using accounting software and custom spreadsheet tools to automate processes and analyses. Maintain the structure of the general ledger and organize financial statements within the business system. Track and update fixed assets and depreciation schedules. Compile statistical reports related to operational activities and performance metrics. Support the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning initiatives. Prepare documentation for year-end audits and assist external auditors with financial, tax, and compliance reviews. Reconcile bank accounts and other asset/liability accounts with the general ledger as needed. Prepare and submit quarterly sales and use tax filings. Manage project cost and budget data within the business system, collaborating with IT for related updates. Record, post, and review labor hours for cost allocation and payroll processing. Prepare schedules for contract labor accruals at month-end. Supervise accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate account coding. Review and authorize weekly payment runs and initiate electronic payments via banking platforms. Address accounts payable inquiries and resolve related issues. Issue, prepare, and post accounts receivable invoices, rebates, and transactions; maintain customer ledgers, generate cash receipt forecasts, and assist with collections. Process payroll transactions. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s degree preferred). Three to five years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, and controls. Proficiency in accounting principles and relevant software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. Seniority level
