Job Summary The Assistant to the Financial Aid Scholarship Coordinator provides leadership and support across the Enrollment Pathway in multifaceted activities associated with Prospects, Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration, Retention, Graduation, etc. These include, but are not limited to the following:

General Awarding, Reducing or Cancelling Scholarships

Process Contracts and Grants

Maintain Student Records

Draft Correspondence to communicate with students

Resolves data inconsistencies in student information system

The student will contact departments for enrollment requirements for department/institutional awards

Assist with other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

Candidate must have the ability to effectively present information about requirements, deadline dates and general information for the Financial Aid Office to prospective and current students

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally

Ability to provide superb and excellent customer service to enable prospective and current students to conduct their business in the enrollment area in a timely and efficient manner

Knowledge of PC operations and software (Windows)

Ability to maintain pleasant working relationship and work well in a team environment

Who May Apply

Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.

Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.

Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.

Work Schedule Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.

Advertised Salary $25.00/Hour
